Hello there!
I'm Sarah Catherine Knights, and I write women's fiction that comes straight from the heart. My stories are all about hope, second chances, and those beautiful moments when life takes an unexpected turn that changes everything.
You'll find most of my novels set on the gorgeous island of Cyprus, a place that's become part of my soul. I lived there in the 1990s when my husband Peter was posted to RAF Akrotiri and honestly, I don't think I ever really left. There's something magical about that sun-drenched island – the way the light catches the ancient stones, the warmth of the people, the sense that anything is possible. It's where my characters come alive, where they discover who they're meant to be.
I've written quite a few books now, and each one feels like sending a piece of my heart out into the world. There's The Aphrodite Trilogy – Aphrodite's Child, Now Is All There Is, and Shadows in the Rock – which follows Emily and her family over two decades, as they navigate love and loss against that stunning Cypriot backdrop. For Cornwall lovers, they also spend time there.
Then there's The Life Series with Life Happens and Life's Complicated, which follows the lives of three friends, Rachel, Grace and Jen. Let's face it, life really does just happen sometimes, doesn’t it and it’s complicated, isn’t it?
I've also written two standalone novels that are particularly close to my heart: Love Is a State of Mind and Beneath the Cyprus Sky. These explore what happens when we think we know exactly where our lives are heading, only to discover we've been looking in completely the wrong direction.
I've shared my own rather chaotic journey in Love, Honour and Annoy – a memoir that's probably more honest than it should be! And for the young readers in your life, there's Marvellous Mabel and Her Amazing Ball, which reminds us all that magic can be found in the most ordinary things.
Here's something I'm rather proud of – I went back to university at sixty to get my MA in Creative Writing. I was a former English teacher who thought her studying days were long behind her, but life had other plans. It just goes to show that it's never too late to chase a dream, even when that dream seems completely mad to everyone else.
These days, I live in beautiful Wiltshire with my husband and Labrador, marvellous Mabel, who's convinced she's my writing assistant. My three children have long fled the nest, but I stay active with swimming, weight training, and those long walks with my four-legged friend.
When I'm not writing, I love visiting Cyprus and taking lots of photos on my phone. My son has moved to California so I will be visiting LA as much as possible in the future; such a different world from Cyprus, but equally wonderful in its own way. My two girls live not too far away and I love spending time with them and my four grandchildren.
If you're ready to escape to Cyprus and lose yourself in stories that celebrate the messy, beautiful, complicated business of being human, I'd love to have you join me on this journey. Pick up one of my books and let's see where the adventure takes us.
